Creating issues

Different ways to create issues in Prodedify.

There are several ways to create issues, depending on your context and workflow.

Quick add

The fastest method for creating issues.

Inline creation

In any list or board view, click + Add issue to create an issue directly in place. The issue is created in the context of your current view — inheriting the group's state, assignee, or other property.

Board columns

On board view, each column has a quick-add button at the bottom. Issues created here automatically get the column's state.

Create dialog

For more detail, use the full create dialog.

Opening the dialog

Click the + button in the header or use Cmd+K and select "Create issue".

Setting properties

The dialog lets you set title, description, state, priority, assignee, labels, cycle, feature, dates, and estimates before creating.

From Kiln AI

Ask Kiln to create issues using natural language.

Natural language creation

Describe what you need: "Create a high-priority bug for the search not returning results when using special characters." Kiln will create the issue with appropriate properties.

Bulk creation

Ask Kiln to create multiple issues at once: "Break down the user onboarding feature into sub-tasks."

Drafts

If you start creating an issue but aren't ready to publish it, it's saved as a draft.

Accessing drafts

Find your drafts in the My Work → Drafts tab. Drafts are private to you until published.

Publishing

Open a draft and click Publish to convert it into a full issue visible to your team.
