Labels

Labels are tags you can apply to issues for flexible categorization. Unlike state or priority, labels are freeform — you define what they mean for your team.

Creating labels

Project labels

Go to Project Settings → Labels to create project-specific labels. Each label has a name and color.

Workspace labels

Workspace-level labels are available across all projects. Create them from workspace settings.

Using labels

Applying labels

Apply one or more labels to any issue from the issue detail panel or inline in list views.

Common patterns

• Categorize by area: frontend, backend, design, infrastructure
• Tag by type: bug, feature, tech-debt, documentation
• Mark cross-cutting concerns: accessibility, performance, security

Filtering by label

Single label filter

Filter any view to show only issues with a specific label.

Multiple labels

Combine label filters to narrow down further. Use labels as a grouping option in list views to organize issues by category.
